Empowering Young Women in Nepal

Nepal, home to the world’s tallest peaks, is a land of breathtaking beauty, rich culture, and resilient people. Yet, beneath its stunning landscapes and vibrant traditions lies a reality of deep-seated gender inequality and a lingering caste system. For many women, life in Nepal means facing daily struggles—from sexual violence and discriminatory laws to limited opportunities in society.

But change is on the horizon. Women and men across Nepal are demanding change and breaking barriers in both the public and private sectors. At Raksha Ascent, we are proud to be part of this movement!

Our Mission: To empower underprivileged young women in Nepal with the confidence, resilience, and leadership skills they need to shape their own futures—and that of their society.

Partnering with local organizations, Raksha Ascent conducts an annual trekking expedition that is more than just a journey through the Himalayas. It’s a transformative experience that combines personal and professional development with adventure! Through this trek, young women build leadership skills, develop self-confidence, build resilience, and forge meaningful relationships. They emerge ready to lead in their communities, driving economic, political, and social change.

Join us in supporting these courageous women as they discover their potential and take on leadership roles, creating a brighter, more equitable future for Nepal.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.” - Muir
